The 2010 football season is
here! I base my calendar year around football (my “New Year
resolutions” begin Monday after the Super Bowl). If you read
my bio page, you know that this is the second year of this site.
I don’t claim to have foolproof systems or formulas. I don’t
care that some professionals claim to have their “formula that
went 12-0 against the spread the last two years!” I don’t
believe those exist. A good statistician can always create a
hindsight formula. It doesn’t make that formula a correct
prognosticator. What you can count on is hours of scouting,
game charting and statistical analysis that I do for myself. I put
in these hours because I love wagering on football and that
requires discipline.
The number of games I pick will
vary week-to-week, because of the amount of time required to
properly chart games. All the picks each week are wagers I
make myself. If you lose, so do I. Some sites may just
give you spread or totals picks. I might bet money lines, team
props, player props or halves. I will even throw in a parlay
or teaser at times.
If disciplined and informed, there can
be great value in some of those wagers. I will post what
wagers I make each week. I will list my wagers as units,
since everyone has a different base of discretionary money with
which they entertain themselves wagering.
If I list a wager as 2 units, for some that might be $20, for
some it may be $400. Every week on this site, I will list 2
free picks, 1 college FBS and 1 NFL if possible. Other games
with my interest will be viewable, but the amount of wager and which
team or player I am picking with analysis will only be viewable for
members or as a pay-per-week purchase. I am looking forward to
a successful 2010 campaign, and I am confident both you and I can
benefit!
Please remember that wagering is entertainment, never wager on a
need basis.
